ShootSort / macOS photography utility

A macOS app for creating photography project folders and organizing incoming media, so the administrative work takes less attention away from the shoot.

The product

ShootSort starts with the repetitive part of a photography workflow: setting up folders, bringing in files and keeping a project legible from capture to delivery.

It can create a new project or organize an existing one. The visible default template uses four folders — RAW, JPEG, EDITS and DELIVERED — with additional and custom folders available when needed.

How it works

Choose a new or existing project, customize its folder template and preview the proposed changes. Select incoming media and a destination, review the import and open the project folder when the operation is complete.

A template that follows your work

Folder naming supports English, Chinese and bilingual labels, with optional numbering and custom folder names. The interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese.

RAW, JPEG and common video files are recognized for routing; PSD and PSB belong in EDITS. Unrecognized files are set aside for review rather than forced into a guessed category.

Review before organizing

Existing project folders are previewed as existing, rename, add or needs review. Unrecognized folders remain untouched.

Imports copy source media and verify copies with SHA-256. Existing destination files are not overwritten; conflicts can keep both files or skip. Source media is not deleted or modified by the ingest workflow.

Current stage

ShootSort is a private beta. This page shows the existing native interface and workflow; a verified copy is not a substitute for a separate backup.
